Yes, I am absolutely a Gold Member at Starbucks.

Starbucks got me through long lectures in college, helped me train 6:00 am small group training at the YMCA, helped me while I worked full time serving / bar-tending and finishing my teaching certification, and is currently helping me through long weeks of teaching kindergarten. I also enjoy an iced coffee or tea on a hot summer day or a warm coffee on a cold winter day. Ask anyone who knows me well, I’m pretty much obsessed with Starbucks, what can I say?!

Regular coffee itself only has 2 calories per 8 fluid ounces, only TWO CALORIES. But if you dress up your coffee with extras, whether at home or your favorite coffee shop, don’t forget you are also adding calories, carbohydrates, sugar, and fat.

Depending on your goals, you don’t necessarily have to cut out your coffee drinks completely; but always remember when you are trying to lose weight, its about calories in versus calories out and I sure don’t want to waste valuable calories on a drink and leave myself hungry at the end of the day. There are so many ways you can lower the calories in your Starbucks drink just by changing a few simple ingredients because YES, you absolutely need to track the calories from your liquid intake just as you would with solid foods.

Blonde Roast Brewed Coffee – Any size. 5 calories. The Starbucks Blonde Roast coffee beans have a shorter roast time, allowing for an easy drinking cup with more mellow flavors. It also has a higher caffeine content than the Dark and Pikes Place roasts.
